dbx Repair

We are always on the alert for scams coming to us through our email. There are phishing scams, email worms, viruses and all kinds of malware and spyware threats. Oddly enough we tend to ignore the largest threat to our computer's health. That is the loss of files due to simple negligence and file corruption. As with the virus and malware problems out difficulties start and end with emails and email archives. Microsoft Outlook Express is the free mail client packaged with Internet Explorer. As such it is the mail system that almost every computer attempts to default to.

Email archives for Outlook Express are stored as .dbx files. These can hold volumes of personal and sensitive data such as important emails containing credit card records and personal information. Obviously their loss can be more than a small problem. Unfortunately loss of .dbx files happens on a regular basis. Large changes in a .dbx file or even a single byte change in a .dbx file might leave the file completely unusable by Outlook Express.
