Q10027 - FIX: Whenever I launch Disk Doctors Data Recovery application, I get an error message saying "Failed to IWbemLocator Object”. What does this mean? How can this problem be resolved?

Disk Doctors Data Recovery Software relies on WMI classes offered by Windows, and this error is a result of unavailability of the service which is etiher not present on the local machine or has been disabled.

Go to services section of the OS (Start – Run – type services.msc and press ok) and check for Windows Management Instrumentation service, this is a default service and could be stopped or inactive due to any antivirus or firewall. You would need to enable this service in order to execute the software.

Note : If the os is Windows XP, service pack 2 must be installed on the system.

In case this service is missing on your system Click Start > Run and type in rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection WBEM 132 %windir%\inf\wbemoc.inf You will need the OS setup CD of the same version to install.
