Q10029 - INFO: Quick Recovery Guide

Disk Doctors Digital Media Recovery software is a powerful utility that helps you to recover photos, music and video files lost due to corruption in the storage media which includes almost all major removable media as well as hard disk drives. The software recovers digital media files which include photos (jpg, bmp, tiff, png, gif, crw, cr2, nef, orf, sr2, srf, mrw), music files ( mp3, wav, midi, mp4) and video files (avi, mpg, mov, mp4).

The software provides easy interface that helps you to recover data in very simple steps. Follow the steps below to recover lost /deleted files from your storage media.

1. Run the program either by double clicking  on the desktop or from Programs list in Start menu. If the drive you are looking for is not listed in the list of drives, then click "Refresh" button this will detect recently connected drive(s) and displays it in the list of drives for recovery.

2. Select a drive which has lost / deleted data that needs to be recovered and click Next button, the program displays a window to select file types you wish to recover.

3. Select the file types you wish to recover and click Next button, the program starts scanning the selected media for specified file types and lists all the found files in a tree format grouped according to their file types.

4. After scanning, the next and final step in recovery process is to restore found data to a safe location. Select the data you wish to recover or click Root folder to select all data and click Save button, a window to select destination location is displayed.

Disk Doctors Digital Media Recovery software provides two options to save data

 1. Save data to local drive
 2. Burn data to CD / DVD

Select the destination location, the program starts saving the data to selected destination location and will pop up a message once saving is completed. All data will be saved in a new folder by name "DigitalMediaRecovery XXXX *" in the specified destination location.

You can preview the file before recovery using "Preview" option. To preview file, double click on the file whose preview is to be seen. This will show the preview of the file before you could recover it.

Never copy / save anything to the drive from which data is being recovered. This may cause overwriting of recovering data and would cause permanent data loss.
