After success full installation of Disk Doctors Linux Data Recovery Software, execute the application from Disk Doctors Linux icon on the desktop or from programs list in the start menu.
Disk Doctors Linux application main window appears as shown below:
Launch Disk Doctors Linux wizard by clicking on 'wizard icon' on the toolbar.
When you click on wizard icon, Disk Doctors Linux Wizard window appears on the screen as shown below:
Select "Recover Your data" option and click on Next button. A window will pop up where you can select physical hard drives for processing, as shown below:
After selecting Linux hard disk, you can select any of the processing modes for further processing. However Disk Doctors Linux Data Recovery provides three processing modes
- Use volume table to get drive list
- Scan for logical drives
- Auto Mode(Recommended)
By default the processing mode is set to Auto mode which is recommended, in case you are not sure for which option to choose Auto Mode is the best option for you.
Click on Next button. Disk Doctors Linux recovery software searches for logical drives and lists them as shown below:
Select any the volume from which data needs to be recovered, here we have selected root volume "/", from the volume table list shown earlier, now click on Finish button. Disk Doctors Linux Data Recovery software analyses the drive and displays found files and folders in tree format as shown below:
Displayed tree enables you to view and recover your lost data, you can save entire tree/selected tree using "Save all" and "Save checked" from Tools menu to desired location.
You may also save scanned information from "save scan information" option in Tools menu in order to avoid re-scanning the volume again.
Which can be used whenever required from "open scan information" option in File menu.
